French pioneering photographer Joseph Nicéphore Niépce took View from The Window at Le Gras in 1826 at his Burgundy estate in France.
It took eight hours to expose the shot!
The first colour photo is credited to Scotsman James Clerk Maxwell, a mathematical physicist, taken in 1861.
